So this is Rock Bottom

Rock bottom.

If life were a movie, this is the scene with Ryan Reynolds narrating like a Deadpool parody. A middle-aged man stares into space at a hole-in-the-wall bar, oblivious to the chaos behind him. Or maybe he’s walking in the rain, no destination in sight, getting cursed out by angry drivers …Cue in Mark Manson’s voice saying, “Everything is F@%#ed”!

Rock bottom does not care about timing. It can show up a year before your 50th birthday or at 25 when you thought you had all the time in the world. Skills, good looks, decent health …none of that matters when the bottom drops. Suddenly the money’s gone, relationships are shaky, and the mirror reflects more failure than progress.

It stings. It’s humiliating. It feels final. But it is not.

But scripture reminds me: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). Even here, in the lowest place, God does not check out.

LIFE LESSON: Rock bottom strips away the extras and forces you to face who you are without the fluff or safety nets. That moment is painful, but it is also clarity.

ACTION STEP: Write down what your personal “rock bottom” looks like right now…be brutally honest. then write down what "rising” would look like for you. Naming both is the first step toward change.

So despite the glum way any rock bottom situation looks, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. And if this sounds anything like your life, it doesn’t have to be the exact same mess, but you catch my drift, then you’re in the right place.

I started FlowRise Media because I refused to let rock bottom be the final chapter. FlowRise Media is about starting over with nothing, but still finding a way to grow deep roots and rise strong. It’s not about pretending everything is fine or selling you some miracle morning routine that fixes your life in 30 days. It’s about showing up messy, tired, broke, confused, and still choosing to move forward anyway.

Just say to yourself this is day one of my rebuild. If you’re standing in your own version of the rain, consider this your invitation to walk with me. This is not an avenue to vent or feel sorry for yourself. It’s a space for anyone who’s ready to rebuild, laugh at the chaos, learn from the setbacks, and rise stronger than they were before.

Grow deep. Rise strong. Welcome to FlowRise Media
